“Word of mouth has always been our best form of advertising” said Bob Hawkinson, one of the owners.  “But, one day Jim and I got to talking about how much money we spend on Advertising and how much it equates per car.  Jim said it’s about $400 per car sold.  So, we agreed to drop the advertising and send a letter to every customer and offer them $400 if they send a friend or relative in to see us and they buy a car”

The response has been fantastic so far.  Many of our Hawkinson Nissan customers are repeat buyers and often Mom and Dad buy a car, have a great experience, then they come in with their son or daughter.  Now, we’ll give Mom and Dad $400 for bringing in their child!  “Why not, said Jim, It’s better we give the money to a loyal Hawkinson Nissan customer than to a Newspaper or Cable TV company.”
