I’ve bought alot of cars in my day, but now, I won’t go any where else but Hawknson Nissan in the Matteson Auto Mall.  The sales people knew the Nissan products and the manager worked out the best deal to get the payment to fit my budget.  Being a Chicago Nissan customer, I had to travel to Hawkinson Nissan in the Matteson Auto Mall. (Take the Ryan to I-57), but the 30 minute drive was worth it. These guys are low pressure and made buying my Nissan Maxima easier than the other guys.

Best Nissan Service department in Chicago! My wife bought her Nissan elsewhere, but I take her car to Hawkinson Nissan in the Matteson Auto Mall for maintenance work and they are always so friendly from the start.  Two different women greet you.  One is Latesia, who always have a smile and a nice hello.  Then the service guy, I like Steve will write the repair order and go over what is needed. No high pressure, but they always make sure to go over what Nissan recommends. I bought a Soul from their Hawkinson Kia store also in the Matteson Auto Mall recently and would buy a Nissan when my wife is ready, based on how they operate service.  I recommend Hawkinson Nissan in the Matteson Auto Mall for all Nissan service work.

It was a very relaxing experience when I purchased my car at HAWKINSON NISSAN in the Matteson Auto Mall.   I first went to Hawkinson and looked over there inventory, they didn’t have the exact car that I wanted and nor did they try to sell me a car that I didn’t want.   With in a few day I got a phone call from my salesman at Hawkinson Nissan telling me that they had located the exact car I was looking for and to come back in to check it out.   The car price was just as we agreed on with no surprise hidden charges.   On the day of the delivery my salesman came in on his DAY-OFF to insure a smooth and trouble free deal.   At the time of delivery I met both Bob and Jim Hawkinson owners of Hawkinson Nissan in the Matteson Auto Mall along with the service department staff that would be handling any concerns that I may have.  I also plan to take advantage of there referral plan and tell all my friends and family about how great my experience was at Hawkinson Nissan in the Matteson Auto Mall.

 I love my new Cube from Hawkinson Nissan

I love my new cube from Hawkinson Nissan in the Matteson Auto Mall.
I are very happy with my new Cube and am looking forward to having it serviced at Hawkinson Nissan. I purchased my car from Ben Hawkinson he is a really good guy. I had been talking to him over the phone for awhile because I had done alot of research on the Internet. He was very patient with me because I was not sure if I was in the market for a new car just yet. Before we even started talking about cars he showed me around the dealership and it made me feel like I was part of the family. Everyone he introduced me to was very nice and friendly. He was very knowledgeable about the Cube and answered all my questions and concerns. There was no pressure at all to buy and like I said I had talked to him on the phone a few times before actually coming in. He also took me to the service department so I would know where to come for service when needed. Tj the service manager was great in fact everyone was great. They explained to me about the Tires for Life program which really helped seal the deal for me. They also told me about their late hours and extended hours in the service department which was very exciting for me because of my hectic schedule. There is also a great area to wait in when I come back for service with a big screen tv to watch, beverages and even Wi Fi so I can catch up on work or emails while I wait.
The finance department was helpful and got me the payment I needed. I even got to meet Bob & Jim the owners. They were super nice and thanked me for just coming in. I did it! I bought my new Cube and will continue to go back to Hawkinson Nissan in the Matteson Auto Mall.

What a great place!

Hawkinson Nissan in the Matteson Auto Mall sets the bar for all car dealers!  I came into Hawkinson Nissan in the Matteson Auto Mall because my husband and I saw Bob Hawkinson on tv talking about their Tires for Life program and the great deals they had on Altimas.  Gordan Smith and Tim Curran were very helpful and knowledgeable.  They had so many cars in stock, I was able to get the color I wanted.  We met the service manager TJ and he showed us around the service department so we would know where to come for our oil changes and free car washes.  Everyone was great!  We love our new Altima and we will be back.  We will send all our family and friends to Hawkinson Nissan because that is how we were treated like family.

Most Chicago Dealers give Chicago Nissan customers $25 or $50 to refer a friennd to their dealerships.  Not Hawkinson Nissan in the Matteson Auto Mall. 

The Owners Jim and Bob Hawkinson have upped the ante to $400 for a referral.

“Word of mouth has always been our best form of advertising” said Bob Hawkinson, one of the owners.  “But, one day Jim and I got to talking about how much money we spend on Advertising and how much it equates per car.  Jim said it’s about $400 per car sold.  So, we agreed to drop the advertising and send a letter to every customer and offer them $400 if they send a friend or relative in to see us and they buy a car”

The response has been fantastic so far.  Many of our Hawkinson Nissan customers are repeat buyers and often Mom and Dad buy a car, have a great experience, then they come in with their son or daughter.  Now, we’ll give Mom and Dad $400 for bringing in their child!  “Why not, said Jim, It’s better we give the money to a loyal Hawkinson Nissan customer than to a Newspaper or Cable TV company.”

Chicago Nissan customers have never had a better opportunity to buy a New Nissan than right now.  Almost every New Nissan has 0% financing and rebates up to $5000 available.

Chicago Nissan Dealer Hawkinson Nissan in the Matteson Auto Mall delivered what they promised.  I recieved a $400 referral fee from Hawkinson Nissan for sending my sister, who bought a pre-owned Nissan SUV.  I bought a car there too and they sent me an email bout this promotion.  My sister happened to be in the market, so I brought her to Hawkinson Nissan and we found a Pathfinder with low miles.  They don’t negotiate much on prices of their used cars, like CarMax, they post a good price on the window.  It does cut out all that back and forth negotiating, so I guess we like that.  Hawkinson Nissan has a free BBQ on Saturday too.  They were busy.  It took awhile for the paperwork, but I guess everyone wants to buy a car on Saturday afternoon.  The BBQ chicken and free pop made it worthwhile cuz we didn’t have to go out for lunch.  My sister got a good finance rate, given her credit woes.  Hawkinson Nissan in Matteson in a Nice dealership.

I give them 4 stars and will recommend them to friends and relatives.

Nissan’s Leaf gets noisy with new sound system

Whether you are running errands or just walking to work, it’s hard to avoid the sound of passing traffic.  Most everyone will react to sound or sight of a nearby vehicle and make the necessary adjustments to stay out of its path.  Combustion engines may give us clues of an ongoing car but what about quiet electric cars?  Nissan has added audible alerts to their Leaf EV to protect pedestrians and those with vision impairments.

The issue with both hybrid and electric cars is that they rely on electricity when traveling low speeds.  So, if you’re still rocking your Ipod while exiting the supermarket or are just plain oblivious, you might not hear the approaching car that’s relying on its battery.

Nissan teamed up with Hollywood’s “advocates for the blind” to create the Approaching Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians system (AVSP), which willl be used in the Leaf and an upcoming hybrid model.  The aim was to use sound cues when the car is going at 20mph or less because it naturally makes enough road noise when traveling at a higher rate.

The AVSP only broadcasts sounds to people outside the car, not passengers.  The main controls for the system are located in the dash panel and sound is produced through a speaker located in the engine.  The Leaf’s sound system kicks in upon start-up and can be turned off by drivers temporarily.  The sound system will turn back on automatically on the driver’s next trip.

Nissan announces U.S. Pricing for 2011 Nissan Versa

Nissan North America, Inc. announced pricing for the 2011 Nissan Versan Sedan and  Versa Hatchback, which are on sale at Hawkinson Nissan in the Matteson Auto Mall.  With a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of just $9,000 USD - unchanged from 2009.

First Drive: 2011 Nissan Juke

Every once in awhile, a car comes along that makes you scratch your head a little.  Look at the new Nissan Juke and stop scratching your head.  If you have ever complained that all cars look alike look again.

Nissan says that the Juke is designed for “aggressive attention-seekers”

The Juke’s styling comes from Nissan’s European Design center, which worked together with the Japanese home sudio.  The Juke style combines hte bottom of a SUV and wheels of a sports car.  Nissan is predicting modest sales.
